Meet Your Accountability & Culture Strategist

Michelle Nicole

Community Accountability Strategist & Restorative Justice Consultant

As a criminologist turned justice consultant with years of experience guiding equity-driven nonprofits and community-based collectives in building cultures of accountability rooted in care, anti-oppression, and collective responsibility, I am deeply passionate about building spaces where all of us can experience the safety and equity we deserve. My mission is to help you build the language, skills, and structures you need to address community harm in ways that deepen your community relationships and create radical safety for the Black, Latine, and Indigenous women and queer folks of color that you serve. Whether you're a nonprofit founder or leadership member, or you're a community-builder, practitioner, or organizer leading or participating in a community-based collective, this workshop will serve as a starting point to building your capacity for relational and sustainable repair-driven accountability practices that feel equitable for you and the community members you serve.

Hold Your Community Members Accountable For Harm While Staying Grounded & Value-Aligned Even When Conflict Is High & Capacity Is Low

You've been trying to address harmful behaviors in your equity-driven organization or community space, but now you want to build the skills to navigate these dynamics in real time so you can stop feeling so stuck during conflict. You know traditional accountability approaches often replicate the very oppressive systems we're trying to dismantle. They escalate tension, trigger shame, leave relationships fractured, and often lead to the collapse of community spaces doing impactful liberation work. This is why you need a different way forward that reflects the type of world you want to build.  In this live workshop, you'll discover how restorative accountability practices can help you transform conflict into an opportunity for deeper connection, trust, and safety. You'll walk away with the 5 R's of Restorative Accountability—a system rooted in restorative justice that encourages genuine repair, honors your collective liberation values, and builds real safety for your marginalized community members. Whether you're managing overlapping professional and personal relationships or navigating complex team dynamics as you try to prevent and respond to harm in your organization, this framework gives you the language, skills, and tools to interrupt harm sustainably, without avoidance, urgency, or shame-based responses.

”
After (AYA accountability coaching program), I am now MUCH more confident speaking up and naming harm I see. Working with Michelle has been a necessary part of my journey and without her coaching, insightful reflections and meaningful examples, I don't think I could have taken all the huge steps I did in becoming a more unapologetic voice against racism, harm, and oppression in my communities.

”
Before joining (AYA accountability coaching program), I was navigating how to effectively call someone out, how to better navigate rupture and conflict and how to turn inwards and work within my own limitations around perfectionism, shame, and disconnection to my sense of empowerment and my voice and value. Now I feel less alone and overwhelmed by the calling to disrupt oppression and I feel more accepting and trusting of my authenticity and assets in healing justice work. The work in this program allowed me to work through my challenges and skillfully navigate complex experiences & scenarios (involving harm) with others.

Michelle Nicole's frameworks finally gave me a way to confront harmful behavior with my senior and junior team members (even when it was unintentional) in a way that doesn't reproduce the systems we're fighting against. Now when taking an action that scares me or makes me anxious, I see that these are signs the action is worthwhile as it is challenging the status quo. I have also gotten so much more practice communicating more directly and having conversations with the goal of engaging others in restorative justice values. Now I have some powerful language and tools to approach difficult accountability conversations with greater compassion, clarity, and groundedness.
